    Amy Burgess

    SPECIALIST SUPPORT COORDINATOR

Hi, I’m Amy — a compassionate and dedicated Specialist Support Coordinator with over two years’ experience supporting participants with complex psychosocial needs.

I bring together a rich blend of professional skills, lived experience, and formal training to provide meaningful, person-centred support.

Before moving into the disability and community sector, I worked as a skilled hairdresser. This role taught me the importance of empathy, communication, and building genuine connections — qualities that continue to guide the way I support participants today.

For the past two years, I’ve been working as a Specialist Support Coordinator, supporting individuals with high and complex needs, mental health challenges, and those involved with multiple services. I pride myself on being someone who listens deeply, advocates strongly, and walks alongside participants as they navigate the NDIS and broader support systems.

I am also currently completing a Bachelor of Social Work at Flinders University, further expanding my knowledge in mental health, trauma-informed practice, and working with vulnerable and at-risk populations. Alongside my studies, I am involved in youth work, where I support young people to build resilience, confidence, and a sense of hope for their future.

I am passionate about helping people feel understood, supported, and empowered — and I am committed to making a genuine difference in every person’s journey.
